2009 Draws Closers

I was thinking tonight about all that has gone on this year. I mean, the year went by so quickly. It's seem we were just ushering in 2008 and now it's time for '09. So what all has happened this year. Good question. My old lady memory does not serve me well now days but I do have a few...what? Oh yea, memories.

Thought I'd make this more fun than listening to me ramble so here we go...

McCain's Top Ten

10. Sammy starts Middle School
9. Lee gets a new job with a vendor
8. Football season with Upward
7. Abby wins 1st place in an art contest
6. Abby gets braces
5. Surgery 1 Cammy Jo
4. Surgery 2 Abby
3. Surgery 3 Lee
2. Nana's 60th Birthday Party
and the number one memory for 2008
1. Sammy is baptized

Can't wait to see what 2009 brings us and you!

Abby Gets Braces Lee Starts his new JOB!

So, what does every child want? Right, glasses and braces. ha Abby was one of the lucky ones, (ha) who got them recently. All her little friends think it is so cool and wish they had them, too. She has done absolutely wonderful with them. Her orthodontist thinks she'll only need them for 8 months, which would be great!

So Lee started his new job. It won't really kick in until after the holidays but he's on the payroll and we are thrilled for that! hehe He will be in NY and KY in January to learn more about the company but for now, we have him all month!

We've come a long way in the last 5 years. God has remained faithful even when we didn't deserve it. Our family has stood besides us and walked through the valley hand and hand. We have friends who were there and loved is through it all. God is good.

Happy Holidays and love to your all.

Sammy Becomes a Brother!

The best thing that can happen to a member of our family happened on Sunday. Sammy decided to give his life to Christ. He's been asking since he was 2 years old. ha

On the way home from Texas, he asked a lot of questions. We gave him many scriptures and he made the choice.

Lee felt so blessed to get to baptism him. Please pray for his walk with Christ as his life continues.

3rd and Final Surgery for the McCain's

So we have completed our list of surgeries in the McCain House. Sammy is free to return home since he thought he might catch the surgery bug. ha Just kidding. He's done a wonderful job helping take care of everyone.

Lee is doing well. The only pain he's having is the hernia repair. I was told that might be the case and low and behold...He's brother David, his wife Janice and their youngest son Ben came over from TX to be with us. They were also here for my surgery.

I was thinking what a blessing my family is. Not everyone has a mother who will move to AR for a month to help take care of the 3 year old and new born baby like mine did when Abby was born. Not everyone has a Daddy who will give them a car in a time of need. Not everyone has a sister who will purchase your children's clothes for you twice a year at a consignment you love in another state. Or encourage your children to pursue their talents when your children don't realize what a talent they have. Or a brother who travels out of his way twice in a month to check on his brother's family. I could go on and on with the blessings our families have given us over the years but I guess the biggest is everyone one of them has an unquenchable desire to serve the Lord. I am truly blessed to have been given the family I have. I hope you were too...if not, I sometimes share mine with others. :-)

2 Surgeries Down, One to Go

So Abby had her surgery today. They had to take out her adenoids as well since they were "HUGE". ha We are home and I've having to yell at her and tell her to calm down. WAY to much energy for someone who had surgery earlier today.

Lee is scheduled for surgery next Wednesday...gall bladder removed, hernia repair and liver biopsy. I think we will meet our family out of pocket this year. ha

Thank you for all your prayers, please keep them coming.

J.J. and April - Sisters

J.J. and Cammy Jo - Sisters

Mama and Aunt Suzy

Mama's 60th Birthday

So we enjoyed a whirlwind weekend in Montgomery, AL. My baby sister planned and orchestrated a wonderful party for Mama. The big surprise for mama was her best friend from New Mexico was there, Suzy Powell. It had been 27 years since they saw each other in person. It was great! If you are on Facebook...I've posted all the photos there for your viewing pleasure.

Abby will have her tonsils taken out on Friday. Please keep her in your prayers.

I can't get the Howell family off my mind. I can not imagine what they are going through. I ask myself what I can do to help but there really is nothing except pray. When something like this happens, it puts so much in prespective for us.

Howdy Doody Everyone

So, I have 6 weeks off of work and am recuperating so the computer is in my lap. Welcome to my time off. ha
We are so blessed have a wonderful Christian Family, an amazing work family and out of this world Nana who came for 3 weeks to take care of us.
For those of you who did not know, Cammy Jo had a major surgery on Aug 29th. Our prayers were answered with pathology showing everything pre-cancer. Since they took everything, there is no worry of it shwoing up later. God is good!
Sammy is 11 now and attends Springhill Middle School. He tried out and made the school choir. Sammy's also playing flag football. Then there's the Cub Scout activities he does with Lee.
Abby is 8 and attends Elm Tree Elementary. She is a cheerleader and loving it. Brownies will be starting soon as well.
We are doing great and would love to hear from you. we're also on Facebook...I know, way too much time on our hands.
